These Daylesford based hens are moved to fresh pastures weekly & have access to outdoors 24/7. They enjoy a fresh natural diet of insects, bugs, worms and grains from various grasses. Chook density is 30 hens per ha.

Under the law, eggs labelled as ‘free range’ must come from hens that are able to roam and forage outdoors for at least eight hours each day.

What does 'free range' mean? Federal legislation defining what constitutes free range egg farming came into effect in early 2018. The maximum outdoor stocking density for free range egg farming is 10,000 hens per hectare of land or one hen per square metre. These eggs come from a regenerative farm, part of permaculture farming method that is naturally regenerative for the land, with a chook density of 30 hens per hectare.
