It's a cold, grey morning at Cockatoo Creek in Nangana, on the Gippsland side of the Dandenong Ranges. Craig and Shelley Heppell are harvesting the last of their corn for the season - fat, sweet and golden.
Within little more than a day, this ripe cob will be delivered to a city verandah in what is one of the most ambitious attempts to deliver fresh, organic seasonal produce to the people of Melbourne. It's called Fair Food and it's aimed at households and businesses wanting good food with minimal ethical and environmental impact.
